Valium addiction symptoms

Valium - the star among the drugs that can disrupt behavior. Valium - the most widely prescribed medication in the world. The number of prescriptions is tens of millions. This medication is taken, more by women than by men. Valium is best known from a large family of tranquilizers (benzodiazepines).

When Valium was first produced in the early 1960's, it was declared like a medicine, which doesn’t create any addiction, whose action does not diminish with time and the reception of which you can abruptly stop without any harmful effects.

Now the main concern related to Valium, is that it still creates addiction, its effectiveness decreases over several weeks, and there are severe symptoms at the sudden discontinuation. We not only know that Valium creates dependence, but also begin to understand the mechanism of this action.

In the brain, there are probably receptors which are sensitive to the Valium just as there are receptors for chemical messengers such as morphine. In the same way as morphine can take the place of endorphins (own body morphine) in their respective receptors, as Valium may substitute its own body tranquilizers.

The use of benzodiazepines, in particular Valium, can lead to the formation of physical or psychological dependence on these drugs, which increases the risk of using large doses, a significant duration of treatment in patients previously abused alcohol or drugs.

Valium addiction symptoms: personality changes, sensitivity to sound or light, numbness or tingling, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, a rapid heartbeat (tachycardia), heart palpitations, hallucinations, memory loss, panic attacks, seizures, a fever, anxiety, tension, depression, insomnia, restlessness or irritability, confusion, sweating, dizziness.

In case of formation physical dependence abrupt cancellation of a drug will be accompanied by withdrawal syndrome (headaches, muscle aches, severe anxiety, tension, confusion, irritability, and in severe cases - derealization, depersonalization, paresthesia in extremities, visual and tactile hypersensitivity, hallucinations and seizures).

Valium should be prescribed by the doctor, so in any case before treatment you should visit your health care provider.

If you’ll follow necessary instructions, concerning dosage and other indications, you will, probably, avoid side effects and Valium addiction.
